DISBRO AND ALLARD ANCESTORS  AND KNOWN MURPHY ANCESTORS

ANCESTORS ON MY MOTHER.....ANNABELLE DISBRO (MURPHY) SIDE
I've developed this new section of my webpage to hopefully find even more information on my ancestors and to locate cousins who may be related. Also feel free to peruse the area if you are a Disbro or Allard. You may find information here to help trace your family tree. Also PLEASE contact me at catsmeow@mis.net if you feel we may be related.

I FEEL THAT OLD FAMILY PHOTOS AND GENEAOLOGY ARE VERY,VERY IMPORTANT! SINCE WE NO LONGER LIVE IN NEW YORK STATE AND CANNOT GO BACK TO DO RESEARCH BECAUSE OF MY DECLINING HEALTH, I CONTACTED THE BINGHAMTON PUBLIC LIBRARY ON-LINE ABOUT DOING RESEARCH VIA USING THEIR LIBRARY. I WOULD LIKE TO INFORM EVERYONE THAT THEY WERE EXTREMELY UNFRIENDLY AND REFUSED TO HELP ME WITH ANY ON-LINE RESEARCH SINCE I AM NOT A "MEMBER" OF THE LIBRARY"!!! I WAS A VERY ACTIVE MEMBER WHEN I WAS A CHILD GROWING UP IN BINGHAMTON AS THAT IS MY HOMETOWN!! YET, I WAS DENIED MEMBERSHIP BECAUSE I HAVE A DISABILITY AND CAN NO LONGER TRAVEL!!!!  I AM ASKING EVERYONE READING THIS TO PETITION THEIR REPRESENTATIVE IN CONGRESS AS WELL AS SENATORS SO THAT ALL PERSONS IN THE U.S. HAVE COMPLETE ACCESS TO ALL GENEALOGICAL RECORDS ON THEIR FAMILY FOR FREE AS WELL AS FREE PUBLIC ADMISSION TO THEIR HOMETOWN LIBRARY!!

PLEASE WRITE TO YOUR HOMETOWN LIBRARY ENCOURAGING THEM TO MAKE ALL THEIR BOOKS AND RECORDS AVAILABLE TO THOSE WHO HAVE BEEN BEEN BORN AND RAISED IN THAT COUNTY!! THANK YOU.

MY GRANDMOTHER, NELLIE MAE DISBRO ON FAR RIGHT..ONLY KNOWN PHOTO IN EXISTENCE AT THIS TIME! Since my Mother was five in this photo and born in 1910, I would say this was taken about 1915.

ABOVE IS THE ONLY PHOTO I HAVE OF MY GRANDMOTHER, NELLIE MAE DISBRO (ALLARD), MY AUNT JANE DISBRO, AND MY MOTHER, ANNABELLE DISBRO.GRANDMA IS ON THE FAR RIGHT, AUNT JANE ON THE FAR LEFT AND MY MOTHER AT AGE FIVE IN THE MIDDLE (FRONT).

ABOVE IS THE ONLY KNOWN PHOTO IN EXISTENCE AT THIS TIME OF MY GRANDFATHER, FRANK ALPHUS DISBRO 34, HUSBAND OF NELLIE MAE DISBRO (ALLARD) WITH THEIR TWO BOYS, HAROLD DISBRO, 11, ON THE LEFT AND KENNETH DISBRO, 9, ON THE RIGHT.

THE DATE WAS NOT ON EITHER PHOTO, BUT I AM ESTIMATING IT AT ABOUT 1915 OR 1916 SINCE MY MOTHER WOULD HAVE BEEN AROUND 5 AT THAT TIME.

IT WAS OFTEN PROPER AT THAT TIME FOR A PROFESSIONAL PHOTO TO BE TAKEN OF THE HUSBAND WITH THE SONS AND HIS WIFE WITH THE DAUGHTERS.

NOTE:Unfortunately back in the early 80's, my Dad sent me a large box of photos to our home in South Carolina. They contained more photos of my Grandmother along with my Grandfather Disbro plus my two Uncles as boys. They also contained photos of my Grandma and Grandpa together and photos of my Grandpa with the work horses. ALL MY PHOTOS were LOST or stolen by someone at the Binghamton Post Office. A tracer showed the package insured for a LARGE amount never left the Binghamton P.O. If any long-lost cousin reading this happens to have any copies of the photos oscan e-mail me scans of their photos, I will gladly post them on my webpage. Because of a very dear relative, I recently obtained the wonderful photo of my Grandpa Disbro and my Uncles as boys. My thanks go out to this wonderful person!

The following information was given to me by my Mother, Annabelle Disbro (Murphy) in writing a number of years before her death.

I also added death dates and details which I found during my hours of research into family genealogy.

This is genealogy data from my MOTHER'S side only!

Many, many thanks go out to LOU ANN SULLIVAN who sometime before her father's passing located me via my website and contacted me. Lou Ann and I are second cousins and how I WISH we'd known about one another many, many years ago!! We now have so much to catch up on.  She has three children, Deirdre Marie Sullivan now 27 who is married to Bradley Garber, 29 and lives in Florence, Arizona.  Another daughter, Alicia Leigh Sullivan is still living at home. Kiel Patrick Sullivan, 24, married Lyndsay Elizabeth Vanderbeck and lives in Binghamton, New York.

LOU ANN's brother is Harry James Hoxsie and has two children by his first wife, Donette Henderson. They are Kori Lynn Hoxsie, 23 and Joel Duane Hoxsie, 20. Harry James Hoxsie later married Kristen Collins and has a daughter, Victoria Lynn. Harry James Hoxie and his wife, Kristen live in Lehigh Acres, Florida.

As soon as LOU ANN returns from Florida, I hope we can share this portion on my website together as we both fear so much information about the past could be lost forever!

AND I ALSO HAVE SOME NEW INFORMATION FROM ANOTHER SECOND COUSIN!!!

DEBORAH STARK who is the Granddaughter of Kenneth Lacey Disbro was able to give a good deal of information about her Grandfather, who was my Uncle Ken.

Photo of my Uncle Ken

Kenneth Lacy Disbro

The above was a World War II photo taken in the 1940's.

(This photo was an AMAZING find as I was surfing the Net trying to find more information about my Uncle Ken and located this photo with his name on Flicker! I contacted the person who had bought a number of photos from a man in Binghamton. It was ONE of the many photos my parents had sent me in the "lost box"! She will also be sending me his Bible which I will treasure. So..I am STILL hoping to recover more family photos as I now believe the box of photos my Dad sent me was indeed lost or stolen by the Post Office, and its contents still around the Binghamton area!)

Kenneth Lacey Disbro married Helen Irene Moore in 1930 in Broome County. Kenneth Disbro died in 1991. I will add the obituary at a later date.  They had two sons Robert Frank Disbro who is Deborah Stark's father and Richard Disbro.

Robert Frank Disbro married Beverly June Bowman on May 27, 1950. Both have died.

THEY HAD THREE CHILDREN, DEBORAH DARLENE DISBRO who was married and divorced and had one son and five step-children.,
DONALD ROBERT DISBRO WHO IS MARRIED AND HAS one son and one daughter.

SCOTT RICHARD DISBRO WHO IS MARRIED AND HAS TWO SONS..

Richard Disbro married Julie divorced and then married Jean
Jean and Dick had three children, two sons and one daughter.

There are more details that Deborah Stark will send later.

Again, if ANYONE reading this has more information to add about my aunt and two uncles and possible cousins, please contact me. I would appreciate having their photos plus information to add to this website.

MORE RELEVANT INFORMATION!

I have other information that was written down by my Mother which she obtained from my Grandmother's family Bible.

It APPEARS as though Imogene Augusta Allard may have had BROTHERS as these names are written down, but it did NOT say just how they were related. Also, there may have been sisters.

HERE ARE THE NAMES LISTED:

Henry Allard - Rhoda

Ella Stone - Mary Rogers - James Allard

Jonathan Head  (Gage)

Winfield Head - Emily Rector Head

ALSO THE NAME PEARL DISBRO MORGAN WAS WRITTEN SEVERAL TIMES ON A NOTEBOOK SHEET IN PAPERS MY MOTHER, ANNABELLE MURPHY (DISBRO) GAVE TO ME ALONG WITH A LIST OF NAMES.

I DO HAVE THE PENSION PAPERS FOR ALEXANDER COLLINS DISBRO. UPON HIS DEATH, MY GRANDMOTHER, NELLIE MAE ALLARD AND PEARL DISBRO MORGAN HAD TO ACT AS WITNESSES AND SIGN A PAPER SO MY GREAT-GRANDMOTHER, EMMA DISBRO COULD RECEIVE HER HUSBAND, ALEXANDER DISBRO'S PENSION AS HE HAD DIED. I DO HAVE A COPY OF THE FULL PENSION PAPERS INCLUDING HOW HE WAS WOUNDED IN THE CIVIL WAR. THEY ARE IN pdf. FORMAT AND RATHER LONG, BUT I WILL GLADLY SEND THEM TO ANY DISBRO RELATIVE . IT IS A BIT HARD TO READ AS THE WRITING WAS OLD, BUT THE DETAILS ARE VERY INTERESTING. SOME PERSONS HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RECEIVE THE PDF FILE AND SOME HAVE. ADOBE IS REQUIRED TO READ THE FILE.

PEARL DISBRO (Morgan)

Although Pearl Disbro Morgan is listed with my Grandmother Nellie Mae Disbro (Allard) referred to as "Nellie A. " since her name before marriage was "Allard" as being a witness so that my Great-Grandmother Emma Disbro could receive her widow's pension, I do NOT know how she is related to my Grandfather or Great Grandfather. ANY help would be appreciated. I DID have this photo at my childhood home as I recall it, but as I mentioned earlier, ALL the photos my parents sent me were lost by the Postal Service. I FOUND THIS PHOTO REMARKBLY BY ACCIDENT WHEN DOING RESEARCH VIA THE NET!

My Mother also had photos in a box and a photo album which are yet to be found. After her death, they were lost.
