HILL ON OUR PENNSYLVANIA FARM WHERE WE ORIGINALLY PLANNED TO BUILD OUR FIRST HOME. IT WAS NOT DESTINED TO BE AS FATE INTERVENED AS IT DOES IN THE LIVES OF MOST PEOPLE. INSTEAD WE WERE LED ON TO NEW AND MORE EXPERIENCES IN VARIED PARTS OF THE COUNTRY. WE WILL LIVE IN KENTUCKY THE REST OF OUR LIVES IN A GORGEOUS AREA WHERE WE CAN ONCE AGAIN SEE BELOVED HILLS WHICH ARE REMINDERS OF THE EARLY YEARS..

I would also like to dedicate my page to a great man and entertainer we lost on Tuesday, February 6, 2007 at the age of 93.He had a profound impact upon my entire life...more than ANY other person. . This great singer's name is Frankie Laine. I became "acquainted" with Mr. Laine at the age of twelve when I first heard the theme from the TV series, Rawhide, popular at that time. Of course, I had to watch the credits the next time to find out the name of the singer. The very next day I wrote to Mr. Laine telling him how very much I enjoyed his singing and asked if he had produced any other recordings. Since I had received my first record player at age ten (my FAVORITE gift) and did not yet have a radio, I wasn't too well acquainted with many singers or the various types of music. Mr. Laine wrote back to me IMMEDIATELY and enclosed a photo plus four 45 rpm records! As you may well imagine THIS twelve year old was in seventh heaven! I played those records over and over again, and I was hooked! That Christmas, all I asked for was "any LP by Frankie Laine". I remember receiving Mr. Laine's "Call of the Wild" LP and "Hell Bent for Leather" which featured his hit song "Rawhide." I think those albums were played literally hundreds of times. From now on, each birthday or Christmas brought one or two new LP's by Frankie Laine until I acquired quite a collection.DEDICATIONS You will also find songs, poems, and other features on the above site, so be SURE to check this out! As young people, we always feel "immortal", and the sun always seems to be shining with never a hint of sadness or heartache. At least, my own childhood and adolescence was like that. I never had a worry or a care. Frankie Laine continued to be my favorite singer even though I acquired many other records through my adolescent years. Of course, adulthood brings the onset of responsibility, change, a gradual awareness that one is not immortal, that loved ones pass on, that life is fraught with many ups and downs, ill health, financial worries, burdens, and cares. And I, like nearly every other human being, had my share and sometimes I thought more than my share of hardships.But through all the hardships ONE MAN always kept me "hanging in there" and gave me the will to go on. That man was FRANKIE LAINE. When I listened to him sing, he wasn't singing for the world, he was singing TO ME, FOR ME. As I later read, that is exactly how nearly everyone feels who listens to his music. Mr. Laine has sung all kinds of songs, romantic, whimsical, songs of the west and the frontier, and songs of inspiration and faith. Who doesn't shiver inside when they hear Frankie Laine sing "I Believe"?
Had it not been for Frankie Laine, I may not be here today as I endured many, many years of severe depression and panic disorder, a horrible accident and later..severe and crippling rheumatoid arthritis. But I always listened to his music...even through the tears. Somehow...someway, this great man gave me the will to go on.
I would like everyone to become acquainted with his music and would like to dedicate this page to Frankie Laine. Mr. Laine wrote a great book about his life entitled "This Lucky Old Son" which I believe can still be ordered.

REMEMBER....A COUNTRY IS ONLY AS STRONG AS ITS PEOPLE..and until we find the cure for ALL forms of mental illness...so EVERY PERSON can lead happy, healthy, and normal lives and contribute to this great society of ours, we shall never be a TRULY great Nation. And, remember...if we work along with research scientists from other countries as well, the whole world will benefit as mental illness will be wiped out from EVERY country.2. Although I do not suffer from Narcolepsy or Cataplexy, thousands upon thousands of people do...preventing them from engaging in any type of work, leaving their homes, creating TOTAL dependency on others, and like all brain disorders, causing horrible suffering. I've found this to be one of the VERY BEST books on the market about severe Panic Disorder: It's called "THE ANXIETY DISEASE" by Dr. David Sheehan M.D. If you cannot find it in your local bookstore, they will be glad to order it for you. It's EXCELLENT reading for both the person with the illness and friends and caregivers.
